PD Devices DSP 600 series of surge protector devices

Wednesday, 03 March, 2010 | Supplied by: Westek Electronics Pty Ltd

The PD Devices DSP 600 series of surge protector devices provides protection against incoming high-voltage spikes and slower rise time disturbances for single-phase (240 V) and three-phase (415 V) circuits.

The devices are suitable for power lines carrying up to 100 A and provide protection between phase, phase to neutral, phase to earth and neutral to earth.

The series is parallel devices, suitable for main switchboard and sub-distribution board level installation.

The series consists of two-stage devices. Under normal low energy transient operation only the first stage will operate with automatic reset occurring once the transient has passed. A green LED indicates that full protection is again available after the transient has occurred.

Surge currents in excess of 30 kA, although clamped, may well damage the first section. In this case the indication is provided by a red LED and the device should be replaced. Remote signalling options are available as NC or NO contacts to operate alarms.
