CSIRO technology in Europe

Wednesday, 19 September, 2001

A set of three Australian MultiBeam earth station antennas were installed at satellite control facilities in Luxembourg. The successful installation is opening up more opportunities for the Australian made antennas, CSIRO scientist, Dr Trevor Bird, said.

"Since the announcement of the MultiBeam antennas being taken up in Europe there has been a steady stream of enquiries from all over the world," he said. The antennas were designed by CSIRO especially for this contract and were produced by Sydney Engineering. The design is based on an earlier prototype that was successfully demonstrated almost ten years ago.
