Conexant and Motorola have agreed to jointly define, develop and manufacture system silicon solutions for broadband communications devices.

As part of the multiyear agreement, Conexant will supply standard cable modem chipsets to Motorola's broadband communications sector and will support Motorola's semiconductor products sector as a second source for these devices.

In addition, the two companies will collaborate to create new, customised silicon solutions for cable modems, set-top terminals and voice-over-IP products.

These optimised silicon solutions will be produced and sold by Conexant and Motorola's semiconductor products sector to Motorola's broadband communications sector.
