Space-Saving Motherboard

For signal matching in process control systems, Phoenix Contact offers multi-channel module carriers in the process interface product line, in addition to the modular base terminal blocks.

Sixteen receptacles for the plug-in PI/Ex-i interface modules are brought together on a single motherboard in a stable, rail-mountable housing.

This construction gives space savings of up to 30%.

Power is supplied centrally. On the system side, a multiple plug permits direct connection to the input/output sub-assembly.

The design allows high packing density for these devices without loss of integrity of the individual measuring circuits.

Module carriers can be manufactured individually for any application. For example four, eight, or 16-channel designs with different field connection terminal blocks (screw, spring cage, Quix) and different connections, such as D-SUB, ribbon cable or ELCO plug connectors for preassembled system cables are available.

The process interface product range consists of analogue smart-compatible input and output modules, digital input and output modules and programmable temperature transducers.

The devices are approved as [EExia]II C operating equipment for all zones and gases and are certified according to the ATEX 100a Directive, which will come into force on July 1, 2003.
