Digi International has introduced the TransPort WR44, an all-in-one enterprise-class cellular router with an integrated Wi-Fi access point.

The router provides high-speed connectivity to remote devices by combining a 3G cellular router, security, routing, an ethernet switch, GPS, telemetry and Wi-Fi access point all in one device.

It is suitable for connecting remote devices in vertical applications such as transport, remote office and point-of-sale.

The device can be used as a mobile hotspot in transport applications such as public safety vehicles or on a bus, train, van or ship. It is also suitable for providing both primary and back-up connectivity to remote office networks.

Security features make the product suitable for point-of-sale applications such as remote payment processing.

The router has power and mounting options, local scripting, dynamic routing, security and firewall features including stateful packet inspection and integrated IPSec VPN.

Enterprise-class protocols incorporate BGP, OSPF and VRRP+, a technology built on the VRRP failover standard providing auto sensing, auto failure and auto recovery of any line drop.

It is a multifunction router with flexibility for industry-specific device connectivity options. Various configurations are available, including multiple serial ports (async or sync), GPS or I/O telemetry modules, a USB port and a four-port ethernet switch.
