Radar level transmitter

Sitrans LR 460 is a continuous radar level measurement transmitter featuring 24 GHz FMCW (frequency-modulated continuous wave) and process intelligence echo processing.

The device is built on the LR 400 platform. The latest device is suitable for measuring solids containing extreme dust, high temperatures and ranges to 100 m.

Virtually any solid medium can be measured, including cement powder, fly-ash, coal, gypsum, flour, grain, aggregates and plastics.

The antenna system is designed for low loss and improved gain, increasing the signal-to-noise ratio by 20 dB over the previous unit. This allows detection of very low dielectric constant materials at long ranges and is possible with a small horn antenna of 100 mm diameter.

Intense dust in the silo atmosphere does not attenuate the radar signal, as the device uses electromagnetic waves at 24 GHz to measure the distance to the material surface.

The infrared handheld programmer allows the device to be programmed without opening the cover. Extreme process temperatures up to 200°C can be measured and material temperature is unlimited.
