Triple form-factor OEM GPS options

Trimble Navigation has introduced three OEM GPS form-factor options to suit the user’s requirements.

The first option is Software GPS (no hardware) primarily for larger volumes, the second is small thumbnail-sized GPS modules (all processing is done on the module) and the third is a hybrid host-based option in which processing is shared between the GPS hardware and the host’s processor.

The company’s TrimCore GPS engine behind the three options provides -160 dB tracking, low power consumption and fast start-up times. Support for WAAS and EGNOS is provided as well as AGPS.

Trimble Navigation Components Division pursues a zero defect policy for its GPS modules. The OEM GPS products use TrimCore software technology to achieve high performance in all environments but especially under foliage canopy and urban canyon environments.
