The main components of the electronic cabinet platform Varistar are a frame, which is available in two different versions, options for doors, side panels and covers plus a wide range of accessories.

Depending on requirements, from this the individual cabinet is configured.

The main feature of the two frames is the load-carrying capacity: the slim line version allows up to 400 kg and the heavy-duty with static loads up to 800 kg.

Both frames meet the dimensions of the 19" standard, the slim line frame also meets the dimensions of the European Telecommunication Standard Institute (ETSI) and the external dimensions of both frames meet the ETSI standard.

The outside sizes of both frames are the same, enabling side by side use. All accessories like doors, side and rear panels, top covers and base plates fit both frames making it a one product platform for all applications.

The frame profile is a closed rolled steel section, which guarantees the highest stability. Shock and vibration tests according to IEC 61 587-1 prove the safety even in extreme environmental conditions.

Further tests according to IEC 61 587-2 confirm the earthquake safety of the platform up to Bellcore Zone 4.

Special holes on a 25 mm grid allow the assembly of all internal accessories either from the inside or outside. Through this all parts can be positioned quickly and easily. The frame profile has a symmetrical all round 45° angle which can be used as a further mounting plane. This allows the assembly of different hinges in any position, eases the assembly of shortened doors and enables unrestricted side by side use.

The 45° angle is also the basis of the new sealing concept for the EMC and IP protection. The EMC and IP seal (up to IP 55) or the combination, is directly assembled on the 45° angle of the frame.

A further innovation of the cabinet platform is the locking system with mechanical or electronic door handles. The interconnecting parts of the handle on the inside of the cabinet are made from insulting material and ensure safety. Locking bars enable the integration of a variable number of cams, which optimises the compression of the sealing element and the effort needed to operate them is much lower.
