Acromag’s ARCX Embedded Computer is a rugged mission computer that is customisable off-the-shelf and SWaP-optimised.

Available in single or double PMC/XMC expansion site versions, the small, deployable embedded computer has thick circuit boards and advanced thermal management to allow the computer to operate under hostile conditions. Compatible with industry standards and manufactured to IP67 standards, the product has been shock and vibration tested to MIL-STD-801F, making it a deployable solution for a wide range of industrial, military and aerospace applications.

The computer offers good flexibility to meet ever-changing requirements with various expansion features, such as PMC/XMC/Mini PCIe/mSATA slots for specialised I/O, memory and FPGA modules. A MIL-DTL-38999 connector front panel allows for an optional custom I/O power filter. The front panel can be modified to accommodate customer-specified secondary connectors, such as antennas, GPS, Wi-Fi and other wireless interfaces. The device also has a removable solid-state drive for data security and a seven-year product life expectancy.

Typical applications include military/aerospace deployable systems such as vetronics, C4ISR and payload management, as well as command and control for drones and robotics. The computer is suitable as a portable data acquisition system in an aircraft by adding a 1553 interface board to a dual unit. Add an FPGA and high-speed graphics card for high-speed video transfer. For multisensor monitoring on mobile applications, simply add a CAN bus interface.
