Avalue PPC-1703 fanless multifunctional panel PC

Backplane Systems Technology has announced the release of Avalue’s fanless 17” multifunctional panel PC, the PPC-1703.

The product features an onboard Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz CPU with an Intel 945GSE/ICH7-M system chipset. Memory capabilities include 1 GB DDR2, 1 x 200-pin DDR2 SODIMM, up to 2 GB 400/533 SDRAM (1 GB per bank) and SSD of 1 x CF socket, which supports Type 1 and 2 compact flash cards.

The product allows for optional USB or Mini PCIe Wi-Fi and for Realtek RTL8111CGb ethernet connectivity. Rear I/O includes 1 x RS-232, 1 x DB-15, 1 x line-out (audio support), 2 x USB 2.0 and 2 x 2 W speaker availability.

With a very durable 5-wire resistive pressure touchscreen, the device can be used in high-traffic areas with diverse applications such as shopping centre point of interest (POI), point of sale (POS), digital signage and media usages. The system combines computer and display in one enclosure, making it suitable for industrial and automation control, gaming applications and medical equipment markets.
