IEI has released the Afolux-4 Series 8~15″ all-in-one in-wall mount panel PC.

The integration of all household electronics and the ability to control them from a central location are the essential Afolux-4 Series elements of a modern ‘smart home’. Household appliances and functions are being automated, allowing lighting, appliances, air conditioning, security systems, monitoring systems, telephones, intercoms and anything with remote control capabilities to be centrally controlled.

The panel PC has a user-friendly interface and the features necessary for central control of an automated household or building.

The PC’s in-wall mechanism and VESA mount kit allow installation in minutes. Screen sizes range from 8 to 15″ to fit the requirements of the application environment, and interchangeable faceplates match any home colour scheme. The PC incorporates an Atom processor N270, delivering cool, quiet operation within the home.

The device is suitable for multimedia-capable applications. The screen brightness adjusts automatically to changing ambient light conditions and the built-in CMOS camera, digital microphone and speakers suit multimedia and video conferencing.

Wireless devices can connect through the Bluetooth interface, including PDAs, mobile phones, headphones, keyboards and mouses. The optional IR receiver senses when someone is in the room and then adjusts the temperature, music, TV and any other device to the individual’s preferences.
