IEI Technology’s ECW-281B-D2550 embedded computer is designed for rugged applications with limited space. The product features Intel’s Atom D2550 Dual-Core 1.86 GHz CPU, Intel NM10 Express Chipset and 2 GB DDR3 SO-DIMM system memory.

The compact, fanless embedded computer supports 4 x COM ports (3 x RS232 and 1 x RS422/485), 4 x USB2.0 Ports, 2 x Gigabit Ethernet ports, 1 x VGA and an audio jack to simplify connectivity to a variety of external peripheral devices. The 2.5″ SATA Bay can support a solid-state disk or hard disk drive.

Expansion is available via two PCIe Mini slots (one full-size and one half-size). An optional 2T2R 802.11b/g/n wireless module is available for greater connectivity. The device meets the MIL-STD-810F shock and vibration specifications for rugged environments.

The flexible mounting options allow the embedded system to be DIN-rail, VESA 100 or wall-mounted to suit a variety of applications such as automation, digital signage and process control. The footprint of 229 x 132 mm allows it to be integrated into applications with limited space.

The product includes the company’s One Key Recovery software solution, which eliminates the frustration of system recovery after unexpected system failure. It is an easy way to create full system backup on demand and to restore the system from such a backup with a single click.
