Maxim MAX14548E/MAX14548AE bidirectional level translators

Maxim has released the MAX14548E/MAX14548AE, ±15 kV ESD-protected, 16-channel, bidirectional level translators.

The devices provide level shifting for data transfer in multivoltage systems by accepting a voltage range from 1.1 to 3.6 on the V_L side and from 1.7 to 3.6 on the ±15 kV ESD-protected V_CC side.

Over these voltages, the devices operate at a guaranteed data rate of 100 Mbps. The low supply voltage, small wafer-level package and ESD protection make the translators suitable for data transfer between low-voltage ASICs/programmable logic devices and higher-voltage systems such as camera modules, NAND flash memory and LCDs.

They feature a power-saving shutdown mode that forces the I/O lines to a high-impedance state and decreases the supply current to less than 1 µA (typ). The translators are compatible with 4 mA input open-drain or push-pull drivers, which makes them suitable for a wide variety of applications.
