Octagon Systems MOBL-D4 rugged mobile computer with PoE functionality for vehicle applications

Octagon Systems’ MOBL-D4 rugged, low-power, mobile computer with PoE functionality is suitable in demanding applications such as trucking, emergency vehicles, transit systems and other situations where the cost of failure is high. The careful circuit design, component selection, testing and heat dissipation maximise reliability and minimise downtime.

The product is compatible with many operating systems, including Linux and Windows Embedded. Linux and Windows Embedded can be supplied pre-installed and configured under OEM contract.

The device includes two PoE ports, providing high flexibility in interfacing with a growing variety of sensors and I/O devices. The PoE technology is said to provide reduced costs, simpler installation and lower maintenance.

The unit incorporates Octagon Hedgehog power supply technology, providing protection from the severe transients common in mobile power systems. It rejects load dumps, repeated transients and overvoltage.
