STMicroelectronics STM8L001 microcontroller
The STM8L001 ultralow-power microcontroller from STMicroelectronics combines the company’s efficient 8-bit STM8 core with essential and effective peripherals, in the compact, low-pin-count SO-8 outline.
The microcontroller provides essential features for basic sensing, communication and control, including two comparators, SPI, I²C and UART interfaces, and one 8- and two 16-bit timers. 8 KB of Flash memory and 1.5 KB of RAM provide code and data storage, and up to 2 KB of the Flash memory can be assigned to act as data EEPROM. A flexible internal clock system, adjustable from 32 kHz to 16 MHz, saves component count and simplifies board design.
Up to six user I/Os allow engineers to take full advantage of the optimised specification. ST’s ultralow-power technologies ensure frugal operation in all modes, cutting current to as little as 300 nA in halt mode to maximise the lifetime of battery-powered devices. The product is also flexible, operating from 1.8 to 3.6 V, and fully specified from -40 to 125°C to ensure operation even in harsh conditions.
The device is designed to deliver a high performance for applications such as industrial sensors, lighting equipment, battery chargers, toys, e-bikes, access cards, PC accessories, printer cartridges and other power-sensitive smart products.
