ABB SafeWind switchgear

Monday, 17 May, 2010 | Supplied by: ABB Australia Pty Ltd

ABB has introduced SafeWind tailor-made switchgear for wind turbines.

The 36/40.5 kV variant of the switchgear has a width of 420 mm, allowing it to fit easily through the tower doorway so that it can be installed after the tower has been raised.

Available in the 12, 24, 36 and 40.5 kV ratings, the switchgear is part of the company’s gas-insulated switchgear for secondary distribution.

In addition to the super-slim 36 and 40.5 kV variants, the swtichgear is available in modules and in a wide variety of configurations, all with the same user interface and dimensions. All live parts and switching components are protected in a stainless steel tank.
