Advantech MIO-2261 Pico-ITX processor board
Advantech has launched its 2.5″ MI/O-Ultra Single Board Computer (Pico-ITX). The MIO-2261 is an Intel ultralow-power Atom N2600/N2800 dual core processor board which supports wide temperature operations between -40 and 85°C. Measuring 100 x 72 mm, the board is equipped with flexible multiple I/O interfaces and the company’s MIOe connector which can extend to additional functions.
The computer is designed with wide temperature components, including management IC which prevents poor power conversion efficiency from rising temperatures. 100% solid capacitors ensure constant stability due to their comparative high melting point (350°C), which is much higher than electrolytic capacitors (120°C). The product uses a high heat resistant TG-150 PCB type board for stable production and quality.
The device features a single 12 VDC power input design with a ±10% tolerance. A DC power hot-plug design protects from current fluctuations damaging the board when DC power is plugged in/out. The computer is designed with an industrial-grade ESD COM port driver IC (15 KV air protection/8 KV contact protection for RS232) and TVS design (transient voltage suppressor) on the power input side to protect the product from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events.
The heat-generating parts and active components are on the top side of the board to make it easier to design a more efficient thermal spread result. The product has an optional heat spreader to conduct the heat to the chassis cover for more compact and low-profile designs.
