Adlink Technology has released the extreme rugged commercial off-the-shelf military computers based on the Intel Core 2 Duo and Atom N270 processors, the Ampro by Adlink MilSystem 840 and the MilSystem 735.

Ampro by Adlink MilSystem products are designed for users and integrators of military-grade embedded systems who want the latest technology and require high reliability, long life cycles and complete configuration control.

Both systems use Ampro by Adlink’s expertise in extreme rugged embedded systems and embedded board computers.

The 735 and 840 are built for maximum reliability in the harshest conditions. Designed to withstand extreme temperature and high shock, they use an extreme rugged enclosure with fanless passive-convection cooling and provide a -40 to 75°C operating temperature range. Military-grade connectors are used by both systems to maximise the reliability of connections and are suitable for applications in military, aviation and transport fields.

The computers are available in high-performance and power-efficient configurations. The 840 incorporates the L7500 1.6 GHz processor and up to 4 GB of DDR2 RAM. Using the GMA X3100 graphics controller, it supports CRTs, flat panels and wide screen digital TVs at resolutions of up to 2048x1536, including 1920x1080 at 85Hz (HDTV).

The 735 features the power-efficient Atom processor N270, up to 2 GB of DDR2 RAM and GMA 950 graphics core supporting display resolutions up to 2048x1536 at 75 Hz.

They are available with Ubuntu Linux or Windows XP Professional preinstalled. Additional operating systems supported include Windows CE, QNX and VxWorks.
