Mitsubishi has announced the development of two industrial-use colour thin film transistor liquid crystal displays (TFT-LCD) with protective glass covering.

The modules will be available in 12.1 and 15.

The modules have good visibility outdoors, due not only to their high luminance but also to their low reflectivity.

The latest models are additions to the line-up of glass bonded products: 9 WVGA, 12.1 WXGA and 14.1 WXGA. The 12.1 XGA model achieves brightness of 900 cd/m2 and the 15.0 XGA model achieves brightness of 1500 cd/m2.

By bonding 3 mm thick protective glass onto TFT-LCD module surfaces with resin, outside light reflection has been reduced by 90% compared with regular protective glass.
