Clipsal SILC lighting automation system

Clipsal Simple Intelligent Lighting Control (SILC) is a hard-wired lighting automation system that can be easily programmed for control via an app. Using familiar wiring practices, the product uses Clipsal LED downlights fitted with special drivers to provide home owners with simple control of their lighting.

The system is installed by the electrical contractor, rather than an integrator, and configured by the home owner. Using the Clipsal SILC app, the home owner has optimised control of the lighting, with the ability to turn lights on and off, dim up and down, and control individual lights or groups of lights — all from a smartphone or tablet. Once the system has been set up, the home owner can go back into the app at any stage to alter the set-up as needs change. The system can also be operated through any standard Clipsal switch plate.

The scalable system includes everything the home owner needs, including downlights, a relay module, a Wi-Fi gateway, wall switches and a power supply. Relays can be added so that non-LED lighting and other small motor load electrical accessories, such as exhaust fans, floodlights, pendants or fluorescent lights, can be turned on or off via the app.
