Crystal Group RE1218M Rugged Embedded Computer
Crystal Group’s RE1218M Rugged Embedded Computer is optimised for applications requiring powerful processing in demanding environments. Completely and easily configurable, the Embedded product line offers advanced thermal management and a carbon fibre chassis. It is field-tested to withstand shock and vibration, extended temperature ranges, harsh elements and harsh environments.
The embedded computer system follows the Intel Roadmap to ensure access to the latest powerful Intel chipsets and processors. It features options for an Intel Haswell, Xeon D or Skylake processor, and up to 128 GB of DDR4 ECC onboard memory. The system is lightweight and rugged, conforming to MIL-STD-810F (516) for vibration and can handle 20G of functional shock for 11 ms.
The product accommodates up to eight 6.35 cm solid-state drives and one PCI2 x16 expansion card. It may be mounted in any orientation, making it suitable for space-challenged applications that require high-end workstation performance and/or storage capability.
The versatile device can be tray- or fixed-mounted and supports expansion for 1x PCIe 3.0 x16 while offering rugged MIL-C-26482 military circular connectors. It is compatible with Windows 10, Redhat 6.5/6.6, Windows Server 2008/2012 and VMWare.
The unit measures 10.4 x 26 x 36.6 cm excluding connectors and is cooled by quiet, high-speed, high-volume thermostatically controlled fans. It is available in a lightweight aluminium chassis weighing 6.6–7.2 kg, depending on card content, and is designed for full performance at extended operational temperature ranges between -40 to +60°C.
