The Teseq MD 4070 can be used as a passive or active RF current sensor in the frequency range of 10 kHz to 400 MHz (a model variation is available extending the frequency range to 600 MHz).

The device can also be used as a bulk current injector. RF current measurements are made in accordance with IEC/EN 61000-4-6 and BCI testing can be performed in accordance with ISO 11452-4 and various motor vehicle standards including ISO 7637.

In the passive mode, insertion loss is typically 22 dB for a 50 Ω termination, in the frequency range 100 kHz to 230 MHz. Transfer impedance is typically 4 Ω whereas in the active mode the typical value is 160 Ω. Insertion loss is typically +10 dB.

The device can be used in conjunction with the NSG 4070 EMC immunity test system. The features include substitution and closed loop test methods, making the system suitable for determining the immunity of electronic components used in many passenger and commercial vehicles.
