MEV3 series DC/DC converters
Murata has introduced a range of isolated single output DC/DC converters that have 3 W of available power in a previously rated 2 W package giving space savings of up to 68%.
The MEV3 series is suitable for providing local supplies on control system boards. The fully encapsulated UL 94 V-0-rated design uses toroidal magnetics and requires no external heatsinking or components.
The series has a typical efficiency of 83% and offers a choice of input voltages of either 5 or 12 and single output voltages of 5, 9, 12 or 15. All models in the range have a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85 °C at full 3 W load and have the added benefit of 3 kVDC galvanic isolation (1 min). Power density is 1.9 W/cm3.
