Characterised by low dropout voltage and low quiescent current, the latest linear regulators from Diodes suit low-power, handheld products where extending battery life is a key objective.

Dual fixed output devices, the 150 mA AP7312 and 300 mA AP7332 exhibit respective dropouts of 150 and 300 mV and typical quiescent current ratings of 60 µA.

To enable full use of battery pressure down to 2 and to provide additional headroom for 5 V sources, the regulators’ input voltage spectrum is wide, at 2 to a maximum of 6. The dual output devices provide designers with a choice of 13 different fixed output voltage combinations, from 1.0/1.0 through to 3.3/3.3 V.

Integrating current limit, short circuit and thermal shutdown protection, the regulators with their MCU-based circuit design deliver two regulated output voltages for core and I/O from the single SOT26 or DFN2018-6 package.

The ripple rejection of 65 dB at 1 kHz minimises supply current ripple in the face of changes in input voltage or load and their transient response enhances overall system response.

Device start-up time is 60 µs and outputs are stable, using just 1 µF low ESR ceramic output capacitors.
