Backplane has announced its range of fanless PCs from 1 GHz VIA PICO systems to Core 2 Duo computers.
The systems support a range of memory and hard disk drive capacities. Many of the systems are in long-term roadmaps, so they are available from three to five years.
Externally accessible I/O includes VGA/DVI, COM, multiple USB, LAN, audio and keyboard/mouse connectors in a range of combinations. Some versions have provision for mounting a slim DVD drive.
The PCs are based on industrial-grade components, many being rated with an operating temperature of 60 °C and above.
Optional mounting brackets are available for wall mounting to allow for better conduction cooling.
