iBASE Technology’s IDOOH-210-IR industrial panel PC has been designed for deployment in an outdoor environment, with its 21.5″ sunlight-readable display. The panel PC features 24 h operation in extended temperature environments and is rated for temperatures from -40 up to +50°C. It is also IP65 rated, meaning it is both dust tight and water resistant.

The product is powered by Intel’s Atom E3845 1.91 GHz quad-core CPU, which is suitable for outdoor applications where the processor is required to be powerful while having low power consumption. It also has an automatic panel brightness, airflow speed and system temperature balance system.

The PC has many features that make it suitable for outdoor environments, such as an infrared touch screen. The infrared technology enables it to be used in environments where a normal touch screen would not be suitable, eg, cold environments where gloves must be worn. An IR touch screen uses light to pick up movements, not the actual physical touch like in a resistive or capacitive touch technology.

The display is IK06 vandal-proof glass, which is said to be harder to damage than a traditional touch screen. This makes it suitable for applications like outdoor kiosks, digital signage and ticketing machines. Other features include wireless support, an IP65-rated front bezel and an IP33-rated chassis.
