Friday, 27 May, 2011 | Supplied by: Jaycar Electronics Pty Ltd

For those with a 24 V vehicle such as a truck or bus, finding accessories like chargers and power supplies that run off 24 V can be near impossible. This device converts 24 VDC to 12 VDC so that normal car accessories designed for 12 V vehicles can be used.

A cigarette lighter plug for 24 V input and a cigarette lighter socket for the 12 V output are the connections. Maximum rated current is 5 A and there is also a USB output with 1 A current to charge a mobile phone or other USB device.

Specifications: input voltage - 12 to 30 VDC; output voltage - 12 VDC; max output current - 5A; continuous output current - 4 A; USB output - 5 VDC 1.5 A max, 1.0 A continuous; efficiency >85%.
