Cree has released its EZBright LED power chip that has twice the brightness of the company's current power chips.

The device is designed for general lighting applications, such as home and office lighting, vehicle headlamps, streetlights, and garage and warehouse low bay lighting, as well as consumer applications including flashlights, camera flash and projection displays.

The blue chip, measured as a bare die, exhibits power output up to 370 mW at 350 mA of drive current and 800 mW at 1 A of drive current.
