M2M Connectivity has released the Maestro Heritage series of modems and kits that combine a base unit offering GSM/GPRS/EDGE with pluggable boards catering for diverse machine to machine applications.
The series, the latest generation of quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE modem, uses different option boards empowering wireless connectivity. They are all supplied with Maestro’s Softool, designed to allow users to develop mobile applications. The hardware and software can be customised.
The main unit has an embedded ARM9 processor running at 104 MHz and enhanced memory up to 64 MB, over the air firmware and software update, auto TCP connection and secure connection to web server (SSL, HTTPS, FTPS).
Two option boards are available. The 6+6 digital I/O board is an extension for monitoring and control application, while the ethernet board transforms the series into a TCP/IP gateway.
Software supports standard industry protocols such as Modbus RTU or DNP 3.0 and is compatible with most SCADA server software or human machine interfaces that support these protocols.
