Marl and Nanoco CFQD Quantum Dot LED products

Marl has partnered with Nanoco Technologies to produce high-efficiency LED lighting with high-colour performance using cadmium-free quantum dot (CFQD) technology. The companies have now launched the Orion QD CFQD Quantum Dot lighting product.

Marl and Nanoco are developing a range of CFQD enhanced LED products to enable previously unseen colour and light quality levels from any spectra of the colour reproduction chart, with vivid and saturated colours using standard LED components as the energy light source. This not only allows custom individual colour selection for users, but also high CRI across the full range of colour tests — from warm blackbody line (BBL) temperatures (1400+ CCT) to very cold temperatures (10,000+ CCT) — maintaining good colour reproduction of objects.

CFQD technology is currently being introduced into the next generation of ultrahigh-resolution and 4K LCD TVs. Benefits include the ability to colour-select and colour-match brand colours; the custom selection of wavelengths of interest from 420 nm upwards for special applications (health, livestock, plants, food); and high-quality white light for special applications.
