Lexar Media has further increased the capacity of its Platinum II flash memory card range with the Platinum II 60x 16 GB secure digital high-capacity (SDHC) card and an 80x 16 GB CompactFlash card.

The cards allow enthusiasts to shoot longer and faster, with higher resolution and high-definition digital camcorders, digital SLRs and point-and-shoot cameras.

When used with many flash-based digital camcorders, the 16 GB memory cards allow up to six hours of 1080 high-definition video recording.

The SDHC is rated at 60x, capable of a minimum sustained write speed of 6 MB per second, while the CF is speed-rated at 80x, which represents a minimum sustained write speed of 12 MB per second.
