Integrated Silicon Solution has introduced the first members of its latest PowerSaver mobile SDRAM family with 128, 256 and 512 Mb mobile SDRAMs offered in x8, x16 and x32 configurations in TSOPII packages as well as BGA packages.
The SDRAM is suitable for applications where both high performance and low power consumption are important, including mobile communications and consumer products.
Power saving features include: temperature compensated self-refresh (TCSR) — minimises power consumption at lower temperatures; partial array self-refresh (PASR) — eliminates unnecessary row activations; deep power down mode (DPD) — provides a low power state when data retention is not required; and programmable output driver strength (DS) — adjusts output drive strength to actual bus loading to minimise power consumption.
The mobile SDRAMs are available in 1.8, 2.5 and 3.3 V options. The IS42SM version has VDD of 3.3 V, the IS42RM has VDD of 2.5 V and the soon-to-be-released IS42VM has VDDof 1.8 V. Both commercial and industrial temperature ranges are offered.
