MtronPTI has released clock oscillators for down-hole drilling and other harsh environment applications.
The surface-mount LCC devices provide operation with stabilities of ±250 ppm over temperature ranges of -40 to +200°C. They are capable of surviving the severe conditions faced by oil exploration, including shock of up to 1000 g and vibration to 20 g.
In down-hole applications, these HCMOS/TTL compatible XOs will draw 1.5 mA with a 3.3 V supply.
