National Semiconductor Simple Switcher power modules
National Semiconductor has introduced nine Simple Switcher power modules that feature an extended operating temperature range and vibration and drop testing for use in harsh environments.
The LMZ10503/4/5EXT, LMZ12001/2/3EXT and LMZ14201/2/3EXT devices provide the efficiency of a synchronous switching regulator with the simplicity of a linear regulator, eliminating the external inductor and complex layout requirements of switching regulator designs.
The wide operating temperature range of -55 to +125°C make the modules suitable for field-programmable gate arrays, microprocessors, digital signal processors and other point-of-load conversions in harsh environments such as industrial and military applications.
The LMZ10503/4/5EXT modules support maximum load currents of 4 A with an input voltage range of 2.95 to 5.5.
The LMZ12001/2/3EXT devices support maximum load currents of 3 A with an input voltage range of 4.5 to 20.
The LMZ14201/2/3EXT modules support maximum load currents of 3 A with an input voltage range of 6 to 42.
