Murata has introduced a range of isolated 6 W, wide 4:1 input, single output DC/DC converters for use in a wide range of applications including telecommunications, battery-powered systems, process control and distributed power supplies.

The NCS6 series is available with input voltages ranging from 9-36 (12 V nominal) and 18-75 (48 V nominal) both with undervoltage lockout. The modules are housed in industry-standard packages that allow them to be used as drop-in replacements in existing designs.

Single output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12 and 15 are available and the series achieves a power density of 0.94 W/cm3 with efficiency levels from 73%. A metal case helps the converters achieve high levels of EMI shielding and the encapsulated design gives good thermal performance.

The series specifies 1.5 kVDC isolation and has typical load line regulation of 0.006%. Low noise performance and a design that overcomes the need for electrolytic capacitors helps to further simplify inclusion in user designs.
