NewEdge Signal Solutions SAX270 tunable bandpass filter
The SAX270 electronically tunable bandpass filter, from NewEdge Signal Solutions, is designed for the extended UHF band in tactical communications applications. The filter has a small package size of 0.5 x 0.45 x 0.175″ and over-moulded plastic packaging.
Other features include: insertion loss of 4.3 dB (typical), a noise figure <0.5 dB above insertion loss, power handling of +27 dBm P1dB, and DC power consumption of <100 mW typical. An evaluation board is also available.
The combination of small size and good RF performance with low DC power consumption makes the filter suitable for high-performance embedded applications where board size is constrained, such as handheld and manpack radios, as well as radios included in drones and other airborne platforms.
