Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF52820 system-on-chip (SoC) supports Bluetooth 5.2, Bluetooth Low Energy and Bluetooth mesh, as well as direction-finding, high-throughput 2 Mbps and long-range features. The SoC also supports Thread, Zigbee and 2.4 GHz communications technologies along with Full Speed USB 2.0 connectivity in a single-chip solution. Its support for popular communications protocols makes it suitable for a variety of wireless Internet of Things (IoT) applications, including asset tracking, high-performance human interface device (HID) controllers, smart home products and professional lighting.

The ultralow-power Arm Cortex-M4-based SoC is drop-in compatible with Nordic’s nRF52833 SoC, offering a range of analog and digital interfaces such as an analog comparator, SPI, UART, TWI, QDEC and full-speed (12 Mbps) USB. The built-in USB, fully featured multiprotocol radio and +8 dBm output power make the SoC a suitable network processor to be paired with an application microcontroller in gateways and other smart home, commercial and industrial applications requiring advanced wireless connectivity.
