Phihong has developed an energy-efficient, 36 W, class 2 universal desktop adapter.
Designated the PSM36W-120TW2, the adapter has a single output of 12 V and is compliant with the US Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA), the EU Ecodesign (ErP) 2009/125/EC Directive level 2 Annex 1b, and the voluntary Energy Star EPS version 2.0 standard.
The adapter is suitable for use in networking, portable equipment, peripherals and gaming machines.
The design provides a low profile with a non-vented case that enhances its low-cost portability. The units feature overcurrent, overload and short-circuit protection and meet class B EMI. The device has a maximum output of less than 0.3 W at no load. The desktop adapter also bears safety marks from CE and cUL/UL.
