Semaphore has introduced POP3 (post office protocol version 3) client functionality to its T-box range of SCADA system products.
The POP3 capability is compatible with T-box LT, the company’s single-module SCADA remote terminal unit and the T-box MS modular system.
POP3 enhances the ‘Push’ messaging capabilities provided by T-box, which allows users to access site information, anytime, anywhere, using a mobile phone, PDA or laptop computer.
The T-box alarm management system can keep multiple recipients informed of conditions via email, FTP and SMS text messaging.
T-box is claimed to be the first IP-based telemetry solution that enables the complete integration of SCADA, control and communications functionality in one package.
It uses web technologies and inexpensive public networks for decentralised monitoring and control systems.
The products offer up to 50% less total installed cost per point versus traditional SCADA/PLC systems and permit greater organisational access to data through automated reporting and browser software.
