Qorvo PAC5556 Power Application Controller

Qorvo’s PAC5556 Power Application Controller delivers intelligent power control with good power density in a compact footprint. The mixed-signal system on chip (SoC) is suitable for controlling and powering next-generation smart energy AC-powered appliances, devices and equipment, and should help to bring such appliances to market quickly.

The product features a fully programmable, 32-bit, 150 MHz Arm Cortex-M4F high-performance digital processor with 128 KB of flash. It also integrates a configurable power manager with a 600 V N-channel DC-DC buck controller, Qorvo’s Configurable Analog Front-End and application-specific power drivers.

The device offers designers enhanced performance and energy efficiency. It contains motor control peripherals such as a 2.5 MSPS analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and PWM timers with hardware dead-time insertion. For high-voltage systems that do not require isolation, the bill of materials should be reduced by up to 35% due to the integrated features that come with the single SoC offering.
