Qorvo QPF4532 integrated front-end module for Wi-Fi 6 designs
The QPF4532, an integrated front-end module (FEM) from Qorvo, was designed for the latest Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) systems such as residential gateways, wireless routers, access points and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
The FEM integrates a 5 GHz power amplifier (PA), single-pole, two-throw (SP2T) switch and bypassable low noise amplifier (LNA) into a single device. With a compact form factor and integrated matching that minimises layout area in the application, the product’s performance is focused on optimising the PA for a 3.3 V supply voltage to conserve power consumption, while maintaining high linear output power and throughput. Receive path design matches optimal technologies to maximise receive sensitivity through noise figure performance as low as 2 dB, for consistency over a wide variety of conditions.
The module features integrated die-level filtering for second and third harmonics as well as 2.4 GHz rejection for dual-band, dual-concurrent (DBDC) operation. For application feedback, a DC power detector is integrated into the halogen- and lead-free package to provide voltage that is proportional to the output power from the transmit path.
