Radiocrafts RC232 RF modules and expansion board range

Friday, 13 July, 2012 | Supplied by: M2M Connectivity

Radiocrafts’ RF modules and expansion boards, which suit a variety of wireless short-range applications based on the RC232 protocol, will be on display.

The RC2500HP-RC232 is a compact surface-mounted module for multichannel GFSK/MSK operation in the 2.45 GHz ISM band with an easy-to-use UART interface. The module includes a range extension LNA and PA and has numerous applications in M2M communication, sensors and control environments.

RC232 is an open standard for automatic meter reading at sub 1 GHz. Other applications include OEM equipment, home and building automation, radio modems, point-of-sales terminals, barcode scanners and telemetry and fleet management.

The expansion boards are designed to integrate into the Sierra Wireless Fastrack Xtend modem, effectively turning it into an out-of-the-box RC 232 gateway with full TCP/IP capability and processing power for extensive embedded applications.

Radiocrafts’ protocol RC232 is designed to enable a cable replacement when using ISM band radio modules for transmission. The RC232 protocol is embedded in the module and enables star (point-to-multipoint) and point-to-point networks.

The RC2500 +20 dBm high-power version is available in same footprint as the 433 MHz (RC1140-RC232) and 915-928 MHz (RC1190-RC232).

Also available is a demo kit suitcase for rapid prototyping and proof of concept for the RC2500HP-RC232 module.
