Fastrax has introduced its UC324 OEM GPS receiver module that uses the SiRF single chip receiver GSC3LT having navigation sensitivity of -159 dBm.

The receiver provides low power 90 mW and fast TTFF together with weak signal acquisition and tracking capability.

The module provides signal processing from embedded GPS antenna to serial data output in NMEA (or SiRF binary) messages. The embedded antenna has good gain and is optimised for 50-110 mm ground plane width.

The device has no need for a copper cut-out under the module. It can be placed on ground plane.

The module requires a single power supply VDD. Connectivity includes a control input for normal/hibernate operation mode control. Serial data and all I/O signal levels are CMOS 1.8V compatible.
