Renesas R85/3NT microcontroller group

Renesas has available the R8C/3NT group of microcontrollers that feature a small package, built-in flash memory, and touch key functions.

They are suitable for products such as industrial control panels, vandalproof security code pads, information displays, whitegoods, spa and pool control panels and flameproof control panels in volatile environments.

The R8C/3NT group integrates, on a single chip, a capacitive touch sensor circuit and a flash MCU. It features a wafer process package that is formed on the wafer before it is cut into individual chips, resulting in a compact package size (3 × 3 mm) about 64% smaller than the company’s R8C/3JT group and improved communication functions that enable connection of the multiple sensors required in devices with advanced functionality.

Features include: 128 to 48 kB flash; 10 to 4 kB RAM; data flash - 1 kB x 4 blocks; I2C bus interface; 4-channel synchronous serial communication unit (SSU); 5-channel touch circuit; 10-bit A/D x 12 channels; real-time clock; 48-pin WPP (3.05 x 3.05 mm) package.
