RF Micro Devices has available its latest family of laminate-based VCOs for mobile infrastructure and other high-performance wireless transceiver applications.

The RFVC975x product family user MicroShield integrated RF shielding.

The family offers phase noise performance that meets or exceeds the requirements of 2G, 3G and 4G (LTE and WiMAX) mobile base stations. Compared with the current generation of monolithic VCOs, the family provides improved phase noise and lower current consumption.

The devices are also said to be 75% smaller than current signal source modules, while providing the same low phase noise performance.
