Sierra Wireless AirPrime SL6087 and SL808x embedded modules

The Sierra Wireless AirPrime SL series embedded modules are available in footprint-compatible GPRS/EDGE and HSDPA versions. The SL6087 modules features quad band GPRS/EDGE communications (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and the SL808x adds support for UMTS/HSDPA.

The SL module footprint is a standard 25 x 35 mm LGA form factor enabling fully automated surface-mount manufacturing. The modules are suitable for manufacturers of small host devices in high-volume production.

Developers can start with the GPRS/EDGE SL6087 and migrate to the footprint-compatible UMTS/HSDPA SL808x versions where 3G is a market requirement.

Both modules feature an extended temperature range (Class A: -30 to +70°C and Class B: 40 to +85°C).

The SL6087 also comes with the full set of plug-ins for Open AT OS, enabling users to add TCP/IP and internet, security, Lua scripting language and Companion GPS capabilities.

Both modules are RoHS compliant 2002/95/EC.
