Rocky-6161 single board computer

ICP Electronics has released a PICMG single board computer with Intel PCI-Express architecture, the Rocky-6161. The PCI-Express is the latest I/O interface to replace PCI for higher bandwidth and has become a new standard for the next-generation computer industry.

The 6161 uses an Intel Socket 478 processor that supports up to 800 MHz front side bus. In addition, the main component, the 915GV chipset, has received Intel's five year guarantee of supply.

This chipset features a built-in Graphics Media Accelerator 900, which supports widescreen LCDs and accelerated DirectX 9, high definition audio and flexible memory support for both dual channel DDR2 533 memory, which can deliver up to 8.5 GB bandwidth.

The 6161EG-R10 features two 184 pin DIMM sockets which can support DDR333/400 up to 2 GB. The 6161 has 2x RS232, 1x LPT, 8x USB2.0, 1x Ultra ATA 100 IDE interface, 1x SATA 150 interface, CompactFlash II expansion function and ATX-12 V power adapter.

To provide the high-speed transmission, the device uses Marvell Yukon-EC 88E8053 PCI Express chipset which has low power consumption, is stable and reliable.
