Imark Communications has released the Microcon SC12V10 solar controller for use with low power remote solar systems.

It is suitable for use with systems powering equipment such as clearance warning lights, navigation lights and telemetry.

The controller, a series regulator for efficiency, features switchmode and MOSFET power components. It has connections for PV input, DC output and battery with all terminals being rated at 10 ADC. Both 12 and 24 VDC versions are available.

The device includes a low battery voltage load disconnect function which will disconnect the load (to protect the battery) if the battery becomes discharged below 10.9 V and reconnect the load when the battery recovers.

Overvoltage protection is also included. Additionally, a timer is included that can be used to switch the load on for certain periods or for night only operation.
