Imark Communications has released the DC2412-151 DC-DC converter for industrial applications where it is necessary to have the 24 VDC input fully isolated from the 13.8 VDC output.
The device uses switchmode technology to provide a typically 80% conversion efficiency and to conserve space.
The converter also uses a custom pressure diecasting that is more compact and is specifically designed to be heat dissipation efficient. It also allows the unit to be weather resistant and includes a gland nut and gasket to seal against dust and moisture.
The device includes an easy-mounting bracket for awkward locations in the engine bay of a motor vehicle or in difficult locations. 'Input OK' and 'output OK' LED indicators show its working status.
The converter operates from a nominal 24 VDC and provides 13.8 VDC 15 A continuous output. The supply voltage can be either positive or negative, while the input and output are both protected against polarity reversal.
The output is overvoltage protected and overcurrent protected and the input is undervoltage protected. Thermistor controlled overtemperature protection is included to switch the unit 'off' if the temperature exceeds 85°C.
