Advanced Power Technology has released two IGBT products for TIG welding - APT200GN60J and APT200GN60JDQ4.
The discrete devices use the latest generation field stop trench gate technology in an SOT-227 package.
The devices are an addition to APT's range of discrete field stop IGBTs.
APT200GN60J is a single IGBT and APT200GN60JDQ4 includes a 100 A anti-parallel diode. Other anti-parallel diode options are available.
Key features include: low conduction loss; high current capacity; easy to parallel - tight parameter distribution and positive temperature coefficient; wide forward safe operating area - reliable linear mode operation; 10 µs short circuit rated; short tail current due to field stop technology - operates up to 30 kHz hard-switched; alternative to modules in high current applications.
The IGBTs are used in the output inverter of aluminium welders. They can also be used in any application requiring very low conduction losses at high currents and 0 to 30 kHz switching speed.
